Don’t even think about starting your bathroom remodeling project until you hear these results from a recent poll conducted by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).

According to responses they received from their top builders and developers, the NARI reports that many people are waiting to get started on major renovation projects due to concerns about the economy. However, they are choosing to move ahead with the “have-to” instead of the “want-to” projects around their home.

Plus, bathroom remodeling projects are the hottest projects!

Whether you’re in Omaha or Orlando, these hot trends will help you create your perfect dream bathroom:

  1. The white, minimalist look is out and warm, cozy earth tones are in!  That’s right, get ready for the greens, browns, and other restful earth tones showing up in tile and paint choices.
  2. Along with these earthy colors, metallic finishes in faucets, hardware, and light fixtures are very complimentary.  Lots of choices of color and style are available now.
  3. Homeowners have so many other things to stress over, they want to create a relaxing, soothing environment in their new bathrooms.  Spa-like bathrooms include features like aromatherapy, soft textures, and even showers with steam vents and multiple shower head body sprays.
  4. Eco-friendly and functional are also making the list.  Energy efficient products that look forward to the future are popular.  Even though homeowners may not need the assistance now, they’re mindful of easy-opening cabinetry, hand-held showers, and even wider doorways which may be necessary in the future.
